Abundant Life Academy is a unique boarding school for troubled teens, serving young men ages 14 to 17. Guaranteed there is no other Christian boarding school quite like Abundant Life Academy (ALA). ALA is a Christ-centered leadership academy specifically designed for the once great athlete who is longer able to participate in athletics due to poor personal choices. Our goal is to restore the student athlete (academically, spiritually, and athletically) so that they can reclaim their athletic dreams. Moreover, our hope is to help the student athlete to earn an athletic scholarship to a Division I or II University. At ALA we restore the once gifted athlete back to a destiny of triumph and victory.

What makes Abundant Life Academy so unique? We serve good kids that have been making real bad choices… choices that have eliminated or undermined their greatest God given gift – athletics. Their dream of attending a college or university on an athletic scholarship is vanishing. Essentially these troubled boys are throwing away their gifting and their future. Most are academically unmotivated (academically ineligible), skipping school, sneaking out, perhaps wrapped up in drugs and alcohol. These student athletes are hanging out with the wrong crowd, going in the wrong direction. Some are struggling in school and their hope for a shot at college ball is disappearing. Many more no longer care and have given up on themselves, becoming victims of their own poor choices. At Abundant Life Academy we can revive the gift and put the student athlete back on the road toward college and a powerful future.

Year-Round Enrollment

Often these gifted athletes are able to use their athletic exploits to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. The typical Abundant Life Academy student athlete is a good kid (good hearted kid) who is outgoing and people oriented (very social and always looking for fun but finding trouble instead), undisciplined, unstructured, and possibly depressed (based on his poor choices for a prolonged period of time). This young man only cares about his peers and having fun. School is not important. This young man blames everyone else for his poor choices, refuses to take responsibility for his actions, lies, and thinks that his parents are killjoys. Partying is his new sport, and having fun is his new trophy. This student may be abusing drugs and alcohol, and experienced minor brushes with the law. Moreover, the ALA student athlete may have been expelled from school and is no longer eligible to participate in high school athletics. Because of the trouble he has caused this student athlete has all but given up on his dream to play high school sports. He no longer has the vision to turn his gifting into a college scholarship and a life of freedom and liberty.
